Am Occidental College in Los Angeles trifft die 20-jährige Studentin Lisa Jack auf einen jungen Mann, den sie bittet, ihr für eine Reihe von schwarz/weiß-Fotos Modell zu stehen.
Lisa träumt davon, Fotografin zu werden.

Der freshman erklärt sich einverstanden, die Fotos werden gemacht.
Und landen in der Schublade und werden vergessen.

29 Jahre spaeter wird der junge Mann zum ersten dunkelhäutigen Präsidenten der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika gewählt. Sein Name: Barack Obama.
Die alten Fotos bekommen einen ganz neuen Wert.

Was nichts daran ändert, dass Lisa Jack nie ihren Traum, professionelle Fotografin zu werden, verwirklichen konnte. Sie arbeitet heute als Psychologin.
